How successful are Dental Implants?

We have found that dental implants are, in fact, highly successful, with a success rate of over 95%. Our patients very rarely experience problems related to their dental implants (tooth implants). However, as with any surgical procedure there are risks involved and occasionally dental implants can fail (less than 5%). This is usually due to the patient’s level of oral hygiene or the bone density in the jaw.

Both factors can be treated and improved prior to dental implant surgery to increase the chance of successful implant placement. Bone grafts are available, if required, and our dentists will advise the correct action for the best possible results. A thorough pre-operative consultation is carried out prior to dental implant surgery to ensure you have a full understanding of every step of your treatment and to answer any questions. If an x-ray or CT Scan is required this will be taken during the consultation. A detailed report is then provided along with a treatment plan.
